Howdy! I am Ryan! I am from Grand Prairie; Texas and I have two beautiful daughters named Emma and Louisa with my lovely wife Janelle. (Talk about kids/family for a couple of sentences) I am a children's book author with a background in sales and marketing and I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Marketing and Jazz Performance. One of my passions is playing drums. After graduation, I played with many punk rock bands which allowed me to travel the world. Some of the best moments while traveling were running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, ski diving in New Zealand, and climbing several mountains like Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I was inspired to write a children's book by my friend Peter Matthiessen (American novelist, naturalist, wilderness writer, Zen teacher, and CIA Operative) because I noticed how my kids gravitated to using cell phones for entertainment rather than reading books. I live in the Great Northwest, where you will find me running or bicycling across the state, hanging out at my favorite pub with friends, and being the President of the Parent Teacher Association for my children's school.
